Description
This is a stoneware mug that was wheel thrown, glazed and fired. To create these kinds of mugs, I throw the body of the mug, trim them, and then attach the handle. After this step, I fire it in a bisque firing (around 1800 degrees), I glaze it with different glazes and then fire it a second time in my glaze firing (around 2300 degrees!).
It is microwave and dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is always recommended. Please handle with care and be careful with hot liquids. Stoneware sounds sturdy, but be sure not to put it in the bottom of your sink where other dishes can fall on it. (That’s the cause of most of mug casualties!)
